Our group has been at this location many times, and it never fails to disappoint. Old Carbon County Jail is best known as the location of the hangint of the Molly Maguires in the 1800's. Before their hanging the men proclaimed their innocence. One of the men, thought to be Alexander Campbell places his hand on the floor of his cell and pressed it on the wall leaving his hand print. He stated the handprint would remain until he was proven innocent. The handprint remains to this day. It is said that people have tried to wash it, paint it and remove that part of the wall with no luck. We had incredible table tipping experiences at this location. Members had cell doors close on their own. Members saw what they described as sparkles appearing on the dungeon floor in various areas with no explanation. Unfortunately no video camera was able to pick it up. We had wonderful flash light communication experiences (see the video below), cold spots, shadow figures, and members reporting a feeling of being watched. We do look forward to returning in the future to see what the inmates may have in store for us next time around.
Below is a video of flashlight communication taken in the Warden's living quarters. We did not expect to get so much activity, but we did. This is a little long, but very interesting.
